Carol Walker graduated with a Practitioner Dipolma in Equine Shiatsu from the Hands on Horses School of Equine Shiatsu
The study was over four years and included extensive practical demonstration of shiatsu on horses, and horsemanship. To qualify as a recognised practitioner Carol was also assessed in her level of understanding of equine anatomy, physiology and Shiatsu theories. Through the four-year course over 300 treatments were carried out, written up and assessed, with final submission of two detailed case studies.
Carol owns two horses, Fred and Barney, and it was through observing Shiatsu treatments on them (innocently booked as 'back treatments') that she realised how much her horses enjoyed the massage and how they communicated with the practitioner in telling him what they wanted. Carol strives for that optimum level of communication with the horses she treats.
Carol is committed to the use of Shiatsu as a complementary therapy, because it is a non-invasive and non-confrontational approach which benefits both horse and owner.
